shine your little light.

No my friend, darkness is not everywhere, for here and there I find faces illuminated from within; paper lanterns among the dark trees.

darkness isn't everywhere. there are little pieces of light pricking out from behind the trees. Carole was right. light is eating a waffle on a PA day, or stumbling across a great blog, being licked by a random dog, eating m&ms... or lights could be amazing people like avery, martin luther, bethany hamilton, estella, jesus, randy alcorn, paul, louis giglio, johnny depp, so many others, and YOU. you are a light, so never, ever stop shining.

greatest song. and it's even about lights.

$202.5

on may the 5th we did it. we raised all the money we could for SMA by selling lemonade, cookies, and baby sunflowers. we're fighting it. we're kicking it in the B-U-T-T. and how much did we raise? raise your eyes to the title of this post. yep. thanks so much to everyone who came out and donated. all the money is going to fight SMA. all we did is in honour of avery and friends. remember guys, keep smiling. :)

i think it will make you cry. it made me cry. and i think that video is why we should all smash sma. as well as this blog: http://averycan.blogspot.ca/. please help us defeat SMA in honour of Estella and Avery. here's a little info from Avery's blog:

"An anonymous donor will match every dollar donated up to $500,000 to help bring Dr. Kaspar's SMA Gene Therapy program out of the lab and into her SMA friends.  Dr. Kaspar's SMA Gene Therapy could cure Avery's friends or at the very least offer advancements towards a cure for them."

(go to avery's blog to learn how to donate)

keep smiling

dear avery,
i wanted to say that i think you lived a very FULL life, even though it was cut short. you were braver than most people, and accomplished more stuff in your lifetime than lots of people. you put a big dent into SMA and because of you i know lots more people will. in fact, your story will live on forever in many people's hearts, and so you still are helping put an end to SMA. thank-you again for all you taught so many people: to keep smiling.
